Refund Policy
This Refund Policy governs deposits, milestone payments, and cancellations for projects with The Studio House Co. (“Company”).
All projects are delivered through a structured commission process involving engineering, design, fabrication, and installation. Because work begins upon engagement, refunds are limited as outlined below.
1. Deposits
Initial deposits secure project scheduling and initiate engineering and design services.
Once engineering, design development, or permitting work has commenced, deposits are non-refundable.
Deposits compensate the Company for professional services, administrative costs, and project allocation.
2. Engineering & Pre-Construction Phase
If cancellation occurs after engineering services have begun but prior to fabrication:
• Refunds, if any, will be limited to the remaining balance after deduction of completed work, design services, administrative expenses, and incurred costs.
• Engineering and permitting fees are non-refundable.
All calculations shall be determined at the Company’s reasonable discretion based on work performed.
3. Fabrication Phase
Once fabrication has commenced:
• All payments made are non-refundable.
• Custom materials and production costs are allocated specifically to the Client’s project.
Fabrication-stage cancellations may also result in storage or restocking fees where applicable.
4. Delivery & Installation Phase
Payments due prior to delivery and installation are non-refundable once fabrication is complete.
Failure to remit final payment may result in delayed delivery, storage fees, and enforcement of lien rights where permitted by law.
5. Permitting Delays or Denials
Refunds will not be issued for delays caused by municipal review processes.
If a permit is denied due to zoning, HOA restrictions, or site conditions outside the Company’s control:
• Engineering and administrative fees remain non-refundable.
• Refund eligibility for remaining funds will be determined based on work completed.
6. Force Majeure
Refunds shall not be issued due to delays caused by events beyond the Company’s control, including supply chain disruption, labor shortages, governmental action, or severe weather.
7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Initiating a chargeback without prior written dispute notice may constitute breach of contract. The Company reserves the right to pursue recovery of disputed amounts, including reasonable legal and collection costs where permitted by law.
8. Governing Law
This Refund Policy shall be governed by the laws of:
• North Carolina for NC projects
• South Carolina for SC projects
9. Policy Modifications
The Company reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will apply prospectively.
